Desperately looking for a sound card driver: ESS Model: ES1869, to run with Windows 2000. Ess tels me the driver is part of the Win2000 CD but it is not. Tried automatic installation with the Winn2000 CD but the driver is not found. Is it a new sound card type of problem^ Thanks jackDPS |

According to EssTech, the driver is in the Windows CD itself. http://www.esstech.com/techsupp/drivers.shtm Apparently, you are not the only one out there fighting ESS. There are insufficient support for OS after 98SE, and perhaps the only way you can get somewhere is to write to ESS directly. Good luck. |

The ESS ES1869 Drivers can be found in the CAB files on the win2k CDROM much like win98 and winMe. What you will have to do is uninstall the card via control panel/ device manager (don't disable it just remove it) and let Win2K redect it put your Win2K cd in and let windows auto search find it or you can specify to look directly on the cd in the I386 folder. |
