BIOS recognizes the floppy drive as does XP. But the light on the drive is always on. And with or without a floppy, XP will always prompt you to put a floppy in. Anyway, the cable and ps are hooked up to the floppy. I have tried various setups in bios for the floppy with no success. Pleasa helpa me! |

Turn the floppy cable around and retest, The floppy LED always being on is indicative of a backward cable. |

I, experienced this same prob.recently, on my first pc build.thought i had fouled something .as rookies usually will, but turned out that ,the floppy mfr. did not have ,the typical notch,to orient cable,on drive. a local tech ,found the fault quick and,as a reseller he said, this is not uncommon. |
