Ran Home Network Wizard on our new Dell desktop pc which has WindowsME, and it creates a floppy for running the Home Network Wizard on our Compaq laptop (which uses Win98SE). When we run the floppy/wizard on the Compaq it says it does not detect a network card. But we just installed a new network adapter slot card and the card shows up in Device Manager and it shows up under Installed Network Components. The laptop is set up for and has been used with our Intel PRO 3200 DSL Modem (external modem with USB connector so a network adapter wasn't needed !). Any suggestions to get this network thing going ? Thanks, Andrew

Are you running through a hub or PC to PC?

If you are running PC to PC you need a crossover CAT5 cable.
