I have just installed a modem on my pc which is running windows nt. The problem is windows does not dectect the modem on start up.I have tried to install it using control panel but windows nt can not find the modem. the modem is okay as I have checked it on win 98. Can any one tell me how to install a modem on windows nt. |

I'm not running NT anymore, but from what I remember..... In the control panel under DEVICES, you have to add the modem to your system. Be sure to have the specific model number of the modem handy - as most driver disks have drivers for several modems. Also, when you install - use the driver(.inf) for NT. |

If I remember correctly NT doesn't use Plug and Pray so you might want to check when the computer boots up to see what IRQ the Modem is using so when NT assigns the IRQ it won't conflict with any of your other devices namely USB or built in sound if you have it. If you installed a Winmodem disable com2 in the bios, it helps. |
