I had to fdisk the HD on my Acer 2100 Aspire. Now I am to able to load the pc up. I have the original setup disk that came with it but they only want to do a reload of the original hard drive and states it cannot find it. At this point I am unabel to load WIN98 anyway I try with OSR2 boot disk or any other method. I don't know where to go from here. I also have a copy of WIN98, but it will not load either. I think it has something to do with USB keyboard and mouse. Don't know where to go from here. Thanks. |

Did you format the hard drive after Fdisk? Setup will sometimes not format it for you so you have to do it yourself. |

Yes and I have the setup disk that came with it. I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I had. This Acer business is bad stuff, I never had a problem loading a pc as I have had with this one. Where do I go from here. WHen I stick the disk in, I get to the diagnosis screen with the pink cross and the diagnosis screen. But I can not reload the hard drive. |

Can you load the cdrom driver on dos boot to get access to cdrom? If you can than make a directory in dos on the hard drive and call it win98cabs or something like that then change back to the cdrom and type in a the D: prompt (cd\win98) *without the qoutes and press enter. copy the contents of D:\Win98 directly to the c:\win98cabs directory with the dos command copy *.* c:\win98cabs. It should look something like this D:\>win98 copy *.* c:\win98cabs than press enter. After the files copy run setup from dos within C:\>win98cabs |
