Got a compaq 5714 from yard sale had no HDD with deal and I had a 16 gig hdd laying around, I have generic drivers for the HDD and none for a CD burner and DVD drive that came with it, do I install with a reg CD-rom drive and add these components later? And do I unplug the Modem and Ethernet cards from motherboard? Basically, is it safer to do minimum install and add components later, plugging in one at a time? Oh yeah, where do I get the audio and vid drivers for this MOBO? |

It would be best to put it all together with a clean install. Win98 will take care of any drivers you might need for the dvd and cd burner. You can find other drivers at http://driversguide.com. Info on the computer can be found at the link below. http://h18000.www1.hp.com/athome/support/msgs/5700/models.html |
