We just got 2 new computers from a computer show for our office. They work great, no problems whatsoever except the USB ports will not work in either of them. The USB root shows up in Device Manager and everything, but when USB devices are plugged in, you get nothing like there is no power. They both have K7SEM boards. Both computers are running WINXP PRO. I have d/l the BIOS updates and have even contacted ESC (what a joke and a waste of time) which did not contact me back after several emails. Anyone have any suggestions besides "just live with it." Thanks for your help. |

I have only built a couple of K7SEM systems and not experienced any problems with USB. What I did notice on the last board however is that in the bios USB legacy was disabled which did not allow a USB keyboard to be used for entering CMOS setup at P.O.S.T. So I had to use a PS/2 keyboard to get into BIOS to enable the feature. Possibly related? |
