I have a Compaq Presario 1075 with a broken monitor. I can only see a little bit in the upper right hand corner, but not enough to be able to disable the monitor so I can hook up an external monitor. Can anyone tell me if there's a way? Thanks in advance.

Just passing through Hardwarehell looking for a solution to my own 1075 problem and came across your question without any responses.
Plug in an external monitor in the connector provided and press the key combination Fn & F2.
This toggles between the internal and an external monitor.
You will have to select the external monitor every time you turn on the computer.
