Help. I am computer illiterate and i bought a 19 inch Digital monitor model VRT19-HA to work with my hP6643 computer.the monitor has 3 plugs in a row that say video out with an R under one,a G under the next and a B under the third. there is a row of video in plugs directly under the video out plugs.one below the R,G,and B.the plugs look like RCA type but they are not.Can anyone out there tell me how to connect this to my computer.Any and all help would be appreciated. |

Send you're monitor back and get an SVGA monitor that uses SVGA standard connectors, not RGB connectors (which stand for Red Green Blue by the way). Otherwise you are looking at some pain in the butt cable solutions. |

The RGB is a different video connector than the standard VGA 15-pin connectors. If the monitor didn't come with a cable to connect it, you should be able to find one at your local computer store (as long as it's a fairly larger one). The connector will have three BNC connectors (opposite the ones on the back of the monitor) and will then go into a standard 15-pin VGA connector. You can see the cable that you need at this page: http://www.cablestogo.com/asp/search_display.asp?user_id=CTG_Online_UserID_0.56664684-6&action=product_info&value=02561 I also know this shows five BNC connectors, since the DEC monitor you have only has three, You need to connect the following BNC connectors: green wire, blue wire, red wire. Leave the gray and black wires disconnected. |
