I currently have a PIII-450 o/c'd to 558Mhz...
it runs fine with office stuff but in some games
it locks up quite a bit.
What is the fastest Slot 1 PIII I can upgrade to?
The Abit site says the BE-6 supports the PIII450-700....but the BE6-II with the same Slot 1 and 440BX chipset is offered in bundle with a PIII-800
by Multiwave and others. I'd like to upgrade as high as possible and no longer have to overclock.

If you check Abit's bios updates, you will find the CPU's supported run all the way up to P3 850 MHz with a 100 MHz FSB.

Here is the quote:

Supports PIII 750Mhz, 800Mhz,850Mhz(100Mhz FSB) CPUs and Celeron 667Mhz,700(66)Mhz CPUs

File name is:
BE6QP.EXE

YOu will need to download their award flash bios update software to install the latest BIOS.

Go to www.abit.com.tw

Choose english, then click the download link.
