I currently have a PIII-450 o/c'd to 558Mhz... it runs fine with office stuff but in some games it locks up quite a bit. What is the fastest Slot 1 PIII I can upgrade to? The Abit site says the BE-6 supports the PIII450-700....but the BE6-II with the same Slot 1 and 440BX chipset is offered in bundle with a PIII-800 by Multiwave and others. I'd like to upgrade as high as possible and no longer have to overclock. |

If you check Abit's bios updates, you will find the CPU's supported run all the way up to P3 850 MHz with a 100 MHz FSB. Here is the quote: Supports PIII 750Mhz, 800Mhz,850Mhz(100Mhz FSB) CPUs and Celeron 667Mhz,700(66)Mhz CPUs File name is: BE6QP.EXE YOu will need to download their award flash bios update software to install the latest BIOS. Go to www.abit.com.tw Choose english, then click the download link. |
