I Have just installed an internal modem but when I re-booted.Windows98 is telling me that it is trying to find a driver for PCI SERIAL CONTROLLER but it can't find one even in windows update.
Is there a problem with the PCI slot on my motherboard? or is there a fault somewhere else.
Please help.

The PCI Serial controller IS YOUR MODEM, have it search on the driver disk for the modem.
