One thing to defininately do. Before installing windows,go into bios to disable virus warning. When this setting is enabled it can prevent windows from writing to the master boot record causing a failed installation. |

This goes along with Vera's recommendation about disableing bios chipaway when installing XP or WIN2K. Make sure all cache settings in the bios are disabled. This includes BIOS cache and Video Bios Cache. As they can lead to Stop errors on the reboot process during the install. Most new motherboard bios' have these disabled by default but it is worth a look just in case. |
