I recently bought a new pc with 256MB DDR ram (266 mhz), Amd Athlon XP 1800+,
Geforce4 MX440-se (asus v8170 magic) AGP card, MSI KT4V (MS-6712 v1.x) motherboard,
40GB 7200 rpm hardisk (Samsung SP4002H) and i am using windows98 and windows xp pro.
My problem is that the processor clock speed is showing only 1150 MHz,
and how can I setup the bios for optimum performance.

Set the memory speed in the bios to 266 or 133 front side bus.

I may be wrong here, but I am sure Athlon XP 1800, is just a name for this Processor and the real speed is, 1150 MHZ.

You are correct the XP1800 is not at 1800Mhz it actually runs at appx 1530Mhz. So 133FSB X 11.5 multiplier.

Hi! I bought a Compaq computer at a yard sale and they said it needed a video card. I brought it back home and the computer powers up but the monitor is black. It is model CM0204 (manufactured in 2000) what video card do I need to try for this? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreicated. I only paid $10 so if it dont sound fixable its no great loss.. Thanks for ya time and have a great day!

To Nawty, probably a PCI video card.
