I just assembled a new system with a Tyan S2390B motherboard and athlon cpu.The power supply is atx with a manual rocker switch on back. When I shut down Windows the p.s. fan turns off,but the numeric lock light on the keyboard stays on unless I flip the power supply rocker switch off.Is this normal or is the power supply or motherboard defective? I don't think anything is shorting out and it doesn't appear to be in suspend mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

No John it is not normal. It sounds to me that there may be a fault in the auto off switch that somehow allows current to flow in just this circuit. It probably isnt a serious problem but I would try another power supply if you have access to one. Regards, Rob |

Syncronicity abounds. I had just noticed this same problem on my system this morning. I recently had a major crash, put in a new ATX motherboard, new Certified Data tower and the power supply is a ATXE 250, 115 to 230v current, max current 50 to 60 mghz. Will wait to see how you fix yours John. |
