Hi all. I'm having problems with my computer, recently it has started to shut down for no apparent reason. I'm running Win ME, on a machine I built myself. AMD Athlon 500, 128 mb RAM, Gigabyte motherboard.
It started about two weeks ago, and it has happened more and more frequently and after shorter and shorter periods of time after switching on, up to the point that it will just about manage to finish the booting process before it shuts down.
As you can imagine, I'm not pleased about this!! Does anyone have any advice?? |

is it the operating system shutting down or the power to the pc is completely shutting down? |

It can be caused by your motherboard or your processor. Please check to the BIOS setting whether you put the wrong settings of those things.
