I've seen lately a slew of pentium2+3 computers come in with their HDD totally destroyed by the owners or their kids!! Is this a growing epidemic of HDD abuse, or some sinister plot to retaliate against the computer itself..... Any other Horror stories or any way to educate the public that ripping out the HDD cable along with the pins is totally destructive to them and their pocketbook..... |

oh well, if this is happening, then education is needed. or they will be educated by the almighty $ that comes from the pocket. sorry if this sounds glib. but it is the truth. |

Probably not necessarily a growing epidemic, but just the fact that computers are much easier to just throw together than they used to be. Therefore, more people that really don't know squat, are putting them together these days. Every manual should say, "DO NOT ROCK THE HD CABLE BACK AND FORTH TO REMOVE!" Geez, then again...are they even reading the manual? |

I'm trying to move towards a ftp which helps educate the masses on computer technologies as to progress towards a utopian society if you have any information of pages that you would like to share you can send the info to formeforu@hotmail.com I do understand how some tech heads might be upset because the potential may reduce the potential for money within the field but really if everyone knows about computers it can only be good minus the whole virtual reality thing (not the computer type) so any resources that the gurus would like to share it can only help |
