I have a system that was working fine, then all at once the soundblaster quit working ! When you boot up windows or try to play a sound you just hear about two seconds of sound ! But when you play a CD it works fine! You also get a error msg that says something else may be useing your sound card ! If you double click on the speaker at the task bar and check the settings there the play control shows three bars on the sound level but theres nothing playing !! |

i had this problem a few times. all i did was reinstall the software. fixed it right up. |

Hi Win....I've tried to reinstall new drivers and another sound card !! Still the same !! |

hi have you checked for irq and dma conflicts. sound cards often use more than one and maybe another piece of hardware is trying to share the same resources |
