I have a system that was working fine, then all at once the soundblaster quit working ! When you boot up windows or try to play a sound you just hear about two seconds of sound ! But when you play a CD it works fine! You also get a error msg that says something else may be useing your sound card ! If you double click on the speaker at the task bar and check the settings there the play control shows three bars on the sound level but theres nothing playing !!

hi
have you checked for irq and dma conflicts. sound cards often use more than one and maybe another piece of hardware is trying to share the same resources
