i recently built a new computer...when i set the cpu speed...i accidentilly set it to the wrong speed. now the computer will now boot...so i need to clear the CMOS, but i dont know where to start.. so can i get any help.. i am also hoping that i did not burn my cpu... please help |

ok now i know that i have to "short" the two soldings on the CLRTC, but how do i short it? |

hi often the manual for your motherboard will tell you what jumpers to work with to clear the cmos. if you don't have a copy of the manual, check to see if you have one on the cd that came with your motherboard or check the manufacturers website for a downloadable copy usually in pdf form so you'll need adobe acrobat which is free for download and very easy to find hope you find what your looking for |

there are two little solder dot on the upper right side of the mother board that neeb to be shorted, no jumpers, just two little dot you need to touch together with a screw driver or something conductive. |
