I have a Mitsubishi laptop computer that is 2 years old. When I turn on the computer the screen goes completely white right away....I don't see it booting up. When I connect it to an external monitor it works fine. Can someone tell me what is wrong.

hi
i recently aquired an older 486 compaq laptop, and until this question came up i haven't gotten to checking out it's insides. it has a ribbon going from the screen connecting to the motherboard on a connector much like an ide connector. if yours is like this on the inside, i wonder if that ribbon has loosened from it's connection. worth checking

hope it's as simple as that
