Dear Sir / madam I have 3 486 computers and I’m trying to put Windows 95 on them. They had window 3.1 on before and I formatted the disk and put dos on. I then put the drivers for the CD ROM on dos and run the Windows 95 startup on the CD. It will start to install but then comes up with BOOT SECTOR WRITE POSSABLE VIRUS CONTIUE N/Y I try to press y and the computer freezes. I have tryed-putting win95 on the hard drive with a different machine and it works. But when I put then hard drive back on the 486, it tells me MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM Do you have any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks |

hi check in bios to see if it has an "anti-virus protection" option. if it does, make sure it is set to "disabled" when it is set to "enabled" it is keeping windows from writing to the master boot record |
