I made a smaller (2 GIG) partition on my 20 gig maxtor drive. Everything worked fine for months. I used it to back up my files while I reformated the Primary partition (C: ). After I deleted the larger partition with fdisk, the smaller one changed from a DOS partition to a Non-DOS partition. Is there any way to get that info off the partition?? I don't want to reformat it, because I have all of my back up files on it. |

By deleting the larger partition you have removed the master boot record so the machine has no idea how to access the disk. At least I think that is what has happened. You could have just formatted drive C without removing the partition and all would have been OK. I assume you havn't got a rescue disk so try to get hold of "partition Magic" you may be able to retrieve the data from your 2Gig drive with this program. Good luck Rob |
