I recently purchased a Mitsumi CR-4805TE and my CD-R burning programs don't recognise it as a CD-R. I am using Adaptec and Nero. Any ideas?

Yes, get rid of the adaptec software.

Most CD Writing software packages do not like working with other CD Write packeages.

I use Nero and find it extremely good (ditched Adaptec a long time ago)

Also, check the Mitsumi web site for Flash Rom upgrades for your CDR, be carefull as these are dangerous.

I use a Mitsumi 4802, flashed twice, works a treat.

agree with matthew i have the same burner nero is basically a stand alone prog it doesnt like other burning progs on the same operating sys the only one i found that will run with it is cd clone.......you will need 5.5 ....and always remember the slower the burn the better the quality and the less chance of a frizzbee......i always burn on 4x.......
