I have here an old motherboard PM8600, and owing to my senile nature, I forgot how the power switch was connected to the mobo. After working on newer mobos for so long, I am used to seeing things like "pwr", "pwr led" and so on, but not on this socket 7 board. All I can remember is that there are 5 pins marked out for the power switch and power LED, and they are marked as "J4 Key lock and power led". From the manual, I have the following information: Pin 1: LED Output Pin 2: N.C. Pin 3: Ground Pin 4: Keylock Pin 5: Ground Ok, here is what I think, but not sure, and I do not want to fry the mobo as yet: 1) power led to pin 1 and 2, followed by power switch to pin 3 and 4. 2) power led to pin 1 and 2, power switch to pin 4 and 5. I am at a loss on this one. Any taker? |

Please ignore this question please..... Boy do I feel stupid. It finally came back to me that this is after a Socket 7 AT board, thus there is no power connector to the mobo after all. Why do I have this feeling that someone out there is snickering uncontrollably? Cheers. |

We usually snicker the most at ourselves. Trust me...we've all been there and probably will be again. |
