Hi, I build desktop computers for myself & family. We have acquired a compaq presario 1200-XL-125 but the modem does not work. I need to know how to open the thing up and take the old modem out. We've done the pcmcia card dance and after about a dozen dongels(?) we would rather replace the internal modem. I would appreciate any suggstions greatly. Ruth isengard_rls@msn.com |

my compaq notebook (different model)has 6 screws. 5 underneath and one below the display hinge in the back. remove all the screws, lift the display to the open position, lift the bezel(the top piece surronding the keyboard)off starting at the hinge area.there are little hidden tabs keeping the front of the bezel secure, you need to carefully work it free and take care to get these tabs back into place when it's time to put it back together. thats how mine comes apart hope that helps |
