I have just bought a second hand IBM Thinkpad 600 with Windows 98 se preloaded i just needed to put my the license agreement numbers letters in after inserting the numbers and letters it asked for various drivers I cancelled all the driver windows and the Laptop shutdown, now when I turn it on the light on the cdrom and floppy drive come on for a few seconds and then shuts down I have tried to restart the Laptop with a startup disk in the floppy drive and it still shuts down I have also tried with a windows disk in the cdrom drive same problem it shuts down.
I know this was a silly thing to do but could someone please help

You may need to enter bios setup and change the boot order. If possible, make it look like this:

a:, cd-rom, c:

At least make sure that the cd-rom OR the floppy come before c: drive.
