Hello there, Can anyone point me some directions how to achieve this? I want to convert an internal cd/rw recorder to an external one using the parallel port. How to connect the ide to the parallel port? Thanks for any help |

Hm.... First off, there are gadgets out there to achieve what you want to do, but are you sure you want to do that? For crying out loud, USB is bad enough, and you are thinking of Parallel? You will be getting a lot of underburn, if successful at all, and chances of getting a CD done in under an hour is pretty slim.... You might be better off just getting a new USB or Firewire CDRW instead. Still, if you should insist of going Parallel, here is a link to look at: http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.html?i=981 |

Thanks Adam. I have this old recorder on the shelf, so I remember why not give him some use. That's why the ideia of the paralle port. I don't care about speed. My first cd recorder was also an external one, so I'm use to it And I think I've found my solution at www.kingbyte.com with an ide-parallel card. Thanks anyway. |
