Make sure they are plugged into the correct plug, it should show a little speaker picture engraved into the metal beside the correct hole. You may have two of these holes depending on what cards are in the computer. Try any that have the little symbol beside them.

Most speakers today require a power adapter to run is there a place to plug in power from an adapter.

Power button on the speaker is on and volume turned up at taskbar and speaker itself.

In control panel under multimedia make sure there is a check in show icon on taskbar. Then double click on the taskbar yellow speaker icon and make sure nothing is muted.

In control panel under device manager make sure that the sound card has no yellow marks beside it indicating a problem.

May need to reinstall drivers. You may have to find out what type of card you have and got to the manufactures site to get drivers or the drivers disk for the card that should have came with the computer or card if bought seperately. Sometimes removing the card in device manager and restarting the computer and letting the operating system find the card again will install drivers.

If all else fails may want to borrow a set of speakers or try yours on a know working system.

By the way should have mentioned all capitols letters are a bit hard to read. Also most forums consider using all caps SHOUTING.
