You may also need the latest Chipset drivers for your motherboard as well. If you are using the 23.11 Nvidia drivers you should also download and install DirectX 8.1

hi
i have tried reinstalling drivers. but that didn't help. i have tried installing 23.11 drivers
and directx 8.1 but that helped neither
i use windows me. i have recently changed my celeron pc to athlon. but the graphic card is old one. could it be that this error is caused by hardware damage or hardware incompatibility?
my video card is nvidia tnt2 m64 agp 32 MB
thanks again

try switching the display adapter to "standard vga" uninstall software for the video card if there is any. boot to safe mode look under the "display adapter" heading in device manager and delete all video adapters except standard vga.
Look under "monitors" heading. make sure there aren't duplicate entries there as well and that the correct one is listed. Reboot. re-install the video card.
hopefully that will do it
