I am building a new pc, using ECS mb w/ AMD XP1600 cpu, and upon installing the win98 it keeps freezing, i have formated the disk, and sometimes it gets 15% done copying files and stops.. Tips anyone? do i need to buy a new copy of OS?? |

First, Go into bios.look for "virus warning" option. Disable it.Now try installing again.Very often Virus warning being enabled is the cause of a problem installing.I would even format and start again. Vera |

i had the same problem, then i cleared the bios back to default settings and i was able to install win98 you may have to remove the mobo's battery or do the clear CMOS jumper |
