I have a problem with crackly / choppy sound. I've replaced the soundcard and checked that the latest drivers are installed, I've also tried new speakers but this did not help. Music cd's seem to play fine, but sound in games is the problem. Would appreciate your help. John. This card uses the same Sigmatel AC 97 codecs as the SBlive 5.1 for 2 channel and 4 channel sound reproduction. It seems as if Digital to Analog conversion is left up to the CPU to handle so if you have alot of programs or apps running in the back ground such as Antivirus software/firewall etc. you could try to turn off these apps one at a time to see which one(s) causes the problem. |

You might also try turning down your sound acceleration through DX diagnostics. |
