PLEASE HELP!!!!
sometimes my computer will start up first time and run all day, but most of the time you have to sit pressing the on/off button for ages until the bloody thing boots up.
pii 400 mhz processor
128mb ram
2 hard drives(still happens with only one plugged in)
pci 100 motherboard

Hi John,
A couple of questions. When you say it doesnt boot up, do any lights come on, or does part of the boot sequence start ?. Does your system have auto-off when you shut down windows or manual power off. Finally, has this problem just started all of a sudden. Answers to above may help isolate prob.

Without any other information, my first guess would be the power supply. Sometimes they die all at once, but sometimes they linger on - appearing to work correctly and causing unusual problems (freezes, crashes......)

As Rob said - more information might help narrow down the possible problems.
