I had a cable company install cable modem and they installed an Ether-net card. I lost my sound ever since. I checked my Device Mgr and it shows a Resource Conflict (Code 15) with AW35 PnP CODEC. I check the Properties and it shows that the Ether-net card and IRQ Holder for PCI Steering are trying to use the same Interrupt 05 resource. I tried to Add/Remove and let the plug n play recognize it, but no joy. I just download an updated audio driver file from ACER, but haven't installed it yet. The original came with Windows 95, but I now have 98. Will this cause any problem if I installed this new driver? Thanks |

move the card, either one, to another slot, and see if it works. some cards, depending on the make, decide that they will take a fixed irq that only it will take, and cause problems with others, even if you try to switch irqs, memory addresses, etc. so the only solution is to put it in another slot. |
