I just got a custom built PC, but it isn't working with my Mac monitor (MultipleScan 1705). The screen only shows that the power's on - a band of mauve across the screen. There is strange behaviour on the control panel on the monitor (for degauss etc.), when it's connected to the PC; the indicator lights flash on and off in a rapid cycle. The monitor is about 8 years old but still looks amazingly good. Last year I upgraded my old Powermac 7200 to a 'souped up' G3 and bought an adapter for the cable which fits the connection perfectly on the PC. I was told that as long as the connection fits, there should be compatability. I called a store specializing in cables and was told it sounded more like a vertical/horizontal resolution problem and to download the latest driver for the monitor. I did do that and installed it but don't see how that helps...I have the new driver now on the Mac but wouldn't I have to install it on the PC? I can't do that if I can't access the PC! Any advice would be helpful!
Thanks, Wanda
