Any floppy inserted in the FDD causes a pop up stating "The Disk Is Not Formatted". It will not read or write disks, nor will it allow a format. It is a relatively new machine. I have tried swapping out the FDD with a "known to work", and have tried repositioning the cable. Thanks For Your Help. |

Is the floppy drive setup properly in the Bios? I had a similar problem with an AOPEN motherboard and floppy setup in the bios as 3 mode which is actually a Japanese standard instead of 1.4 meg IBM set along time ago. Another thing to check in the bios is whether the setting for the floppy controller is enabled. |

The drive is identified and enabled in the bios. Thanks, I went in and checked it just now .... one last thing, I may have lost the floppy after installing an Iomega CD-R. Not sure about that as I didn't check it right away. |

Did you check without the Iomega installed? I remember a while back Iomega had a problem with certain drives hogging resources. |
