I have just installed a new Sony CD-R/W CRX1611-82U on my Aptiva IBM computer, the problem is that it shows up as eight different drives, anyone have any suggestions on how I can change it so that only one drive letter appears.

TIA

Probably you have tried this but in case you haven't.

Boot into safe mode and under device mangler (better known as device manager) remove seven of the drives. Might even want to remove all eight and let Windows find it again.

Also could check the Sony site for newest drivers also.

Early in the morning and scanned through your question too quickly. Thought the extra drives were showing up in device manager.

Anyway would still try uninstalling it in device manager and letting Windows find it. Possibly having the newest drivers to feed it when it is found.

In reply to installing a nero cd internal burner didn't think Nero made burners just burner software.

Anyway not sure of your specific problem but for general cd burner installation instructions check here.
