I need a utility for a Maxtor HDD sufffering from bad MBR caused by W2K repair effort to get W2K to recognize slave drive; problem was actually a bios problem in Athalon-based mobo, but MBR got cooked on the way to the bios discovery. Neither windows nor Norton recognize anything on drive, reporting "bad MBR". I once had a WD utility able to redo boot sector, something like that?

Hi Bob, Glad you found mates for you HDD's, Fdisk/MBR will force the Master boot record repair on most drives. If you need a utility I believe Maxtor has a suite you can download.
