Hello: I am in the process of building a game controller and would like to learn how to take my switches and potentiometers and wire them in such a way into the computer USB port. Then be able to use windows game controller to set the functions of each switch. I do not know any programming but am willing to learn to do what it takes. Any help will be most apreciated. Thanks Joe 908-301-3083 |

You need to learn how Digital devices interface with analog switches and potentiometers, Your best bet would probably be to either take a course in electronics or at the very least pick up some books at your local library on How Stuff Works. You can find 'em in the "How To" section. After that is done and you are familiar with USB 1.0 and 2.0 spec's you might want to take a course in compiling either XML or "C" language. Both can be used to manipulate ports. Search google.com for specifications on DAC's and ADC's as well. If you are trying to get that X-Box controller to work on your PC, the USB interface is altered on the X-Box so the controller won't be compatable until someone (you perhaps!) builds an adaptor. Have fun..... |
