I had to do a format on my hard drive and now I have lost the sound drivers. The sound is on board and I don't have nay idea how to locate the driver for the sound. Does anyone have a generic driver for audio? |

There is no such thing as generic drivers unless you are referring to the referance drivers from the manufacturer of the sound chip. Your best bet is to download and use a utility such as CTPCI/CTBIOS which will tell you who manufactured the board and who manufactured the sound chip on the board. |

My new Compaq Presario desktop was working just well for the past year and a half. One day I turned it on and noticed that no sounds were comming out of my speakers. I checked if I muted it and I didn't. Everything was pluged in and turned on. The volume is on high yet I Can't Hear a thing! HELP!!!! |
