I have a 486 laptop with a systemsoft bios. When i try to boot up, It says Date & 'Time corrupt, Run Setup'. then beeps and says press F1 to continue. I do so and it asks for a Bios User password, which i dont know. Does anyone know anything that could help? I have tried removing the Bios battery and that has not helped. Thanks.

What kind of laptap? Some mftg. do actually have great documentaion and even service guides to download.

Often on laptops, two contacts have to be shorted together...manually...and inside the case.

If all else fails, do a search for a small program called KillCMOS. Amazing little program.

PS. Your anti-virus program may give an alert like it is a virus. Not true.

Hope this helps.
