I am trying to burn a DVD-R data disc using a DVR-AO3 (with latest firmware update), New Pioneer meida, and Windows XP Professional on a DualP3-1GHz system with 1.5GB of RAM. Every time I try to burn a DVD-R with Prassi PrimoDVD, I get an error: "Error-10 at Sector 16 - Command:2A Sense:05 ASC:2C ASCQ:00" According to the help files, this is a "Command Sequence Error." Why am I getting this, and WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THIS WORK!?!?!?!? Any help would be appreciated, --Todd Ripplinger |

How is the DVD burner setup? as a master on the secondary IDE or slaved to the HDD on the primary IDE. Check in the bios to see if the DVD burner is set for *auto* detect or *NONE* pertaining to the IDE channel it is connected to. For most burners and even cdreaders the correct setting is *NONE* and let the bios drive table pick it up. |

It is set up as the Primary Slave, and in the BIOS it is set to PIO mode 4, with DMA disabled. I am using a 40 pin / 40 conductor IDE cable. In Windows XP the secondary slave is set to PIO mode only. I have the most up-to-date drivers for my IDE bus, as well as for the DVR-A03 and PrimoDVD. I can read and write CD-R and CD-RW media, but I can't write DVD-R or DVD-RW media. Pioneer tech support tells me "it should work," but obviously I am still doing something wrong. |

Set it up on the secondary IDE as master and make sure the jumper is set to master with the DVD writer as slave in PIO mode Win XP will default the HDD as PIO mode 4 as well. With it on it's own cable on the secondary as master WinXP should allow the HDD to run in DMA mode and the DVD in whatever mode it can handle, usually MWDMA. |
