I'm not sure if this is a Hardware or Software issue.

I have a Gateway laptop running Windows98.
Today, the left click button next to my trackpad magically quick working.
The right click does seem to work.
This also seems to happen with a mouse attached.

I 'think' my trackpad buttons are still working - because I can still depress and hear the click on the left button.

Is it hardware related? Or is there someway to 'fix' a software setting?
E.S.

If an external mouse connected results in the same problem, check the mouse settings in control panel to see if any settings have changed regarding left click functions.
