I have just attempted to install a PCTel HSP56 V.90 internal modem into my friends computer and the git thing won't work. Un fortunately for him, It's an ancient P100, 16MB ram and Win95.The problem is that the modem works fine in my Brand Spanking new P4 1.3gig, running Windows ME. I obained the correct drivers for the modem and attempted to install it. It has assigned the modem COM port 3 after I installed the drivers. The problem now is that the bloody computer refuses to communicate with it when I go into the Modem Properties and click 'More Info'. It keeps saying to check that it's installed and turned on...blah blah blah. There's nothing wrong with the modem because I've been using for longer than I care to remember. Please help me! |

First, you could try putting the modem into a different slot. If that doesn't do it then this link goes into detail to help get it corrected. http://808hi.com/56k/soft56upg.asp |
