A few days ago the sound on my computer stopped working. I hooked a different audio source to my speakers and I got sound, so the problem is with my sound card or something. I only get static and a beeping noise when I turn the speakers up all the way. If it helps, my sound card is called: "AC'97 sound card"

Are there any errors showing in device manager? Is the audio integrated into your motherboard?
Did you try re-installing the drivers?

There are no errors in the device manager.
It's not in a pci slot, so I'm guessing that it is interaged into the motherboard.
I can't re-install the drivers because the local company that made it for me didn't give them to me. I could go there and get them, but I'm trying to see if I can fix it myself first.

Investigate as to what motherboard you have. Exact make and model. Go to the manfacturers website, support, download section to get the drivers for your board.

Another thought. Did you get a Windows cd with your setup or did they store the cab files on your hardrive. If they put the cabs somewhere on your harddrive they may have put the drivers for your motherboard in there as well. It may take some hunting.
