I installed a new ECS K7SEM MB with a Duron 700 (this is just an accounting computer) When I turn it on, the bios starts fine, reads the chip perfectly and does the memory check without fail but then HANGS. Cant use keyboard to go into CMOS. Everything is new. I have an ANtec case (NEW) but has a 250W power supply that came with it. Is this the problem? |

athalon cpu systems require at least a 400 watt power supply. replace yours with a good one that is reliable and recommended by the manufacturer of the motherboard for starters. as far as hanging, i would check the memory, reseat it as it is the most common thing that goes wrong when you install. most often than not, memory sticks don't get seated properly when they're installed. then see what happens. are there any beeps that happen when it hangs? or is it just the hanging? |
