Have Shuttle 5692A59IH2H motherboard
AMD K6 233 CPU
current bios is 2A59IH2H
integrator is out of business and out of state
(not very hardware sharp person
did install 128 meg and usb card yesterday successfully)
NOTE: GOAL IS TO ADD 100 GIG DRIVE
Award wants $70 to provide M2A59IH2H BIOS upgrade
Can I just load 569wiq0e.exe to bootable floppy and flash bios instead?
OR REFERRAL TO SOMEONE I CAN ASK? For $ is okay.

Mary, check with this website for either a bios replacement or update your bios: www.badflash.com
Provided you know what your bios is now and what you want on it, helps alot but even if you don't and can provide as much info as possible that website can help for alot less than what Award wants. You can do this yourself provided you have the proper bios update, flash ulitity that does it and a spare floppy and system of course. The mtrbd. support website should all you need, but if not try these urls: www.wimsbios.co or www.bioscentral.com

In addition, check out http://www.spacewalker.com/english/faq_e/569.htm you might also include which version you have when you inquire about a bios as it is important to know which feature set you have on your HOT-569 Shuttle board. |
