I would realy appreciate help with a problem i have My system is as follows

amd duron 800 cpu
663as pro motherboard
using via kt133(vt 8363)AGPset (x4 AGP)
256 ram

nvida riva tnt2 model64 agp card version 021(as reported by windows)

windows me version 4.9.3000

The problem is as follows:

windows refuses to accept that the card is an agp card and has become very unstable. If the system does not hang (black screen no message)it will atempt to reinstall the card, when the system does boot any attempt to alter screen properties results in a system reset or freezes the machine, so i have to manualy reset. I have managed to get the system to treat the card as a pci card so that i can use the system, but i have massive screen "artifacts"(windows is not refreshing the diplay properly resulting in black or garbled squares after any onscreen activity). I have tried many solutions but the problem is beyond me i hope that someone out there can help me

thank you in advance for any help
E.S.

Have you tried updateing the VIA 4 in 1 drivers? It could be that Windows Me isn't running the correct GART driver for VIA chipsets that would explain the video corruption and only detecting as PCI. download the 4 in 1 drivers from www.viaarena.com or www.viahardware.com you will also find many cures to many problems with the VIA KT133 chipset at the latter. What I have noticed in the past in Me is you may have to boot in safe mode and delete any multiples in device manager in order to install the 4 in 1 drivers properly.
