I have a gateway2000 laptop,model solo2300,It works fine,but when you power up the dos screen comes up like normal,it finds all the hardware,but when it goes to boot windows up the screen blinks once and stays black,when you press ctrl,alt,and delete.The screen gets lighter for a minute,right before it reboots you can see windows booted up fine.I hooked a external monitor to it and it worked fine. |

If you can get into the bios on it check that both LCD and VGA output are enabled, on some laptops you have a choice of either or, or both. |

Try booting in safe mode if it works at that point it's probably a resolution setting or refresh setting. |
