I have an Asus P3V4X with the Via Apollo Pro133A Chipset. PIII 650mhz. the problem is everytime I boot my computer up everything runs fine, After an hour or longer if i need to reboot or shutdown it will shutdown and start to reboot. except that the screen will go black. Hard drive, A disk start booting up normal except i get a weird beep code with the screen black. beep code is 1 long, 2 short, and then 2 Long diferent sounding beeps (1 higher pitch then 2nd lower pitch) I've tried all i could think of and have no idea what is wrong. But after i let the computer sit shutdown for about 6 hours i can boot back up. Could someone please help?? |

You may have a heat related problem. Open system case and clean/blow it out. With case open observe when problems appear. If they do, place a household fan of any type and direct it to blow on the system, if the problem disappears or settles down, then either a system fan of some sort is iffy or stored-up heat within the case is just too much. RAM can also be at fault either system memory or video. You can reseat cards one at a time to determine at fault, beware the system may think you install new h/w, allow it install itself or disreagrd the install process, depends on the system. good luck -----Willy |
