Hard drive boot disk

what i need is a boot disk for win98. I turn on my laptop and all i hear is the fan from the power. No hhd light is flicking or any thing. I check all conections and everything is snug. Yes i didnt make a boot disk for it, is ther a place on line that i could down load one or could i use a friends 98 boot disk.
Model toshiba satellite 4010 cdt
pentium 266 64mb ram 4gig hhd. can some one help

thanks went to boot disk and made one for win98. Now when i put the disk in nothing happens the all i hear is the fan power, no beeps no hard drive light isnt flashing. What could be wrong. THANKS V FOR YOUR HELP.
any suggestion for what is now wrong with it

I haven't worked to much with notebooks. Aside from going in and reconnecting and reseating everything you can ( if it's under warranty I wouldn't mess with it) I don't know what to suggest. When you have parts to swap around it's easier to troubleshoot and find the failed component

Here's another laptop problem we're seeing lately: The thing won't power up! When you press the power button, nothing happens… TRY THIS before calling for repairs: REMOVE THE BATTERY, then try powering up. For some goofy reason, Power Management can get confused (especially if the laptop is never run on battery power), and prevent the machine from booting. Removing the main power battery (check your manual if you don't know how) can, in some instances, "reset" Power Management and allow the machine to power up again.

Have you tried disconnecting the drives to see if there's any activity?
