I have an AcerPower 6400 Series system. It currently carries a Slot 1 Celeron 266MHz CPU (yes I know, 'De-Celeron') but I know that it will take up to a Pentium ll 333MHz on the V65LA motherboard. These, however, are pretty hard to come by and it has been suggested to me to use a Slot1/370 adapter (Slotket?) and a PPGA Pentium, these being easier to get, and therefore less expensive. OK, fair enough, but out in the confusing world of Intel CPU's, which CPU can I buy for this adapter, that will give me a good L2 cache (my 266 has none at all) and a bit of extra speed (I don't need it to be blinding, just better)and do all that WITHOUT confusing the rest of my system? |

If you can find a good Slotket (Asus Smart Adaptor) You should be able to run a celeron 466 perhaps even a 500 but only in a PPGA370 if the bios will support it. I have had very good luck with the 466 Celeron on boards which in theory only accept a 333 mhz CPU. |

Here is a very good layout of your board if you need it http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/acer/mb/acv65la.htm |
